Wedding Photography at Assembly House Norwich

In October 2019, I had the enormous honour of photographing Stella and Joe’s amazing wedding at the Assembly House Norwich.  The Assembly House is a gorgeous building steeped in history all the way back to 1258, so how lucky was I being asked to photograph such an amazing couple in such an historical building.

My day started with some bridal prep pictures, by the time I arrived the bridal prep was well underway in the kitchen which was a hive of activity.

With eight bridesmaids to get ready, hair and makeup were extremely busy and time was going very quickly.  Time was getting on by the time all the bridesmaids were done and it was getting close to leaving time, so it was really lucky that Stella has chosen to have different people for hair and makeup. If Stella hadn’t then we would have been really late for the wedding!

The detail on Stella’s dress was amazing!

Unfortunately, when the flowers were placed in the water to keep them fresh, the ribbons also got wet, but no problem, Stella pulled out her hairdryer and got the ribbon dry, ingenuity at is best!

Once Stella was ready it was time to call in Dad, oh how I love it when dad sees his daughter for the first time in her wedding dress, and I am so glad I am there to photograph bridal preparation to capture such lovely moments forevermore.

Stella had a wonderful 1975 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow from Special Occasion Cars: what an amazing journey to The Assembly House that must have been!

The bouquets and dresses looked absolutely amazing, and the flower girls looked so cute.

We were running a little late and I loved watching Joe keep looking back to see what was going on, the anticipation to see the girl of his dreams was killing him, but the best men were very chilled out :-)

When Stella did come down the aisle, wow oh wow, that look of love as Stella and Joe saw each other for the first time on their wedding day, just melted my heart.

The ceremony was simply amazing in the Grand Hall with all the glittering chandeliers and soooo romantic, what a room to get married in!

After drinks, I took a couple of pictures of Stella and Joe on the balcony

and then a cheeky group shot out the front of the Assembly House with Bus and Us Routemaster in the background, but what are all the guest looking at, did a cheeky photographer tell them to look over there???

We then all got onto the bus and travelled to the Lord Roseberry Public House, when we got dropped off at the end of Roseberry Road I just had to use the Routemaster bus as a backdrop for the Confetti picture.

The Lord Rosebery is on Rosebery Road and dates back to the late 19th century, named after former prime minister the fifth Earl of Rosebery (another bit of cheeky history for you).

With the Processco flowing and the Rum Dogs entertaining us what a fantastic night it was!
