Wedding Photography at Norwich Castle

On a very wet and windy Saturday in February 2020 Mark and James said ‘I do’ in the historic Norwich Castle.

Norwich Castle is a medieval royal fortification and was founded in the aftermath of the Norman conquest of England when William the Conqueror ordered its construction because he wished to have a stronghold in the city of Norwich. In 1894 the Norwich Museum moved to Norwich Castle and it has been a museum ever since and the first wedding at Norwich Castle was Friday 1st April 2016.

When I arrived at Mark and James’ house, Bella was chilling out on her bed, she had a big day ahead of her.

Bella was going to be the ring bearer so Di was having a test run as she did not want anything to go wrong

As we had plenty of time, James and I had some fun with a mock-up picture using Mark’s shirt.

James was doing a great job of tying Mark’s tie

As James is a hairdresser at the Pavilion Hair Salon then it only made sense that he worked on Mark’s hair.

What a great looking groom!

Prior to the wedding, Mark and James met all their guests at the George Hotel for drinks and a few canapes.

The atmosphere was amazing, soooooooo much laughter and fun.

The canapes looked fantastic, the only problem was that Mark had managed to drop one which rolled all the way down his jacket, leaving a lovely greasy stain which had to be removed in every single picture and they were not even married yet!   Mark was mortified but as I knew I was able to remove the stain I was able to reassure him so that he could carry on with his wonderful day without any concern.

The wedding guests travelled to Norwich Castle on a bus, Mark and James travelled with me and we left a little earlier so we could get a few photos in the castle before the guests arrived.

Whilst Mark and James were speaking with the registrar, I managed to get a few photos of the guests having fun in the wind and rain.

Mark and James walked into the ceremony to some beautiful music

Richard, the best man, got a little surprise as Mark and James walked by. I just love James deadpan face as he grabs Richards behind.

The ceremony was amazing and there were so many happy tears.

After the ceremony, we went back to the George Hotel for lots more fun and laughter and of course a little bite to eat.

For the ring ceremony, Bella was doing a great job until she saw all the guests and wanted to say hello, totally ignoring Mark and James

What a fabulous day with some really amazing people, I was so happy and proud to be asked by Mark and James to document such a wonderful wedding.
